Designed and 100% made in Japan, Hirata is a brand that started in 1963 as a baby cot manufacturer catering to the high demand due to the post-war baby boom. Since the late 1960s, Hirata moved into producing dining tables and chairs with the objective of making good furniture for better living.

The simplicity in Hirata’s furniture design is backed by the theory that the dining table and chairs is where the family enjoys one another’s company every day. The details in the craftsmanship also add a sense of warmth to these handcrafted products.

From conceptualisation to design and to material selection and production, Hirata maintains its high level of quality control by keeping all processes in-house. With solid wood sourced from the USA, Hirata offers a wide variety of wood and fabric colours to suit different preferences.
