A bedroom previously used by a primary school child for sleep, study and play was badly in need of decluttering to make space for sharing with a younger sibling. As the built-in wardrobe is still in good condition, the proposal was to maintain the wardrobe and change everything else.

Our customer’s brief to us was that within the space, we need to fit in 2 single beds, 2 study tables, plenty of storage space for books (owners are book lovers!) and a play area. On top of this, our furniture also had to blend in well with the existing wardrobe. With these requests in mind, we developed the following design:-

The room was given a complete makeover anchored by two Roomier Heron Single wall beds that offer standard single-sized beds in the night, and tucking away neatly to free-up floor space for play in the day. Heron is the classic boxed hidden wall bed that can be simply folded away vertically to blend in with the wall or other furniture within the space. Duo-tone finishes and uneven shelf- dimensions helped to break away from regular modular cabinets that can be easily purchased from furniture stores.

While each user has a dedicated study table and chest of drawer for storage, a little bench below the window was incorporated as a reading corner and play area for the two girls sharing the room.
